How it works (high level)
In stereolithography, a vat of liquid photopolymer is exposed to patterned light. Where the light hits, the resin cross-links and becomes solid. After each layer cures, the build platform moves (or the resin level changes), and the next layer is exposed. The result is a part with fine detail and smooth surfaces, depending on the system and resin.
