Microstereolithography (micro-SLA) and stereolithography (SLA) are both additive manufacturing processes that build parts by curing liquid photopolymer resin with light. The key difference is scale and typical resolution: micro-SLA is optimized for very small features and higher precision, often producing microfluidic components, dental/medical microstructures, and intricate electronics housings. Conventional SLA is broader in use and can produce larger parts with high accuracy, but usually not at the same micro-scale feature level as micro-SLA.

How they differ in practice
Both methods use a light source to selectively cure resin layer-by-layer. In SLA, a laser or projector cures each layer; in micro-SLA, the optical system and process parameters are tuned for finer spot sizes, tighter control of exposure, and reduced feature blur.
